Prince Rupert was founded as the terminus of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway in 1914, and the rails remain busy to this day, linking the Pacific all the way to Chicago.
The 200-plus car trains rolling past the wall of trees behind the Cassiar Cannery were an unforgettable part of my time there, and an integral part of the Canadian experience.
