The EASTSIDE CULTURE CRAWL Festival

November 14-17, 2024. Thu/Fri: 5pm-10pm. Sat/Sun: 11am-6pm

Each November—for 28 years and counting—the Eastside Arts Society [EAS] has produced the Eastside Culture Crawl Visual Arts, Design & Craft Festival, in which artists in Vancouver’s Eastside open their studios to the public. The event is focused on the area bounded by Columbia St., 2nd Ave., Victoria Dr., and the Waterfront, and involves painters, jewellers, sculptors, furniture makers, weavers, potters, printmakers, photographers, glassblowers— ranging from emerging artists to those internationally established.

My 18”x24” piece “One Ninety-Five” is one of thirty pieces of art in this year’s Art Roulette fundraiser!

Tickets are on sale now until November 8th & each ticket-holder will go home with an original piece of art by an Eastside artist. Art Roulette is the perfect opportunity to start or build your art collection AND support the Culture Crawl’s accessible and no-cost arts programming. ART RENTAL SHOW

The Art Rental Show opens at CityScape on Friday, August 23 and runs until Saturday, September 21, 2024.

This is the semi-annual, salon-style exhibition showcasing works from the Art Rental Program. The gallery walls floor to ceiling. Artworks that can’t fit will stay on the panels in their Art Rental salon where they are easily viewable.

There will not be an opening reception for this exhibition, but we hope you will stop by to visit. 

North by Northwest

Finishing up a busy exhibition season with an exhibition of my north coast collection at Gibsons Public Art Gallery, which has been at the centre of the Sunshine Coast Arts community for over twenty years!  My exhibit has been  inspired by my 2022 artist residence at the Cassiar Cannery & illustrates aspects of the particular history in one of BC's most fascinating regions.

My exhibit will be opening alongside "Watershed" and exhibition by Vancouver artist Suzan Marczak, which explores the primal landscapes of high mountain passes and headwaters, illustrating the awe inspiring yet fragile nature of these water towers and emphasizing the need to protect and preserve them

SEATTLE TO SIN CITY

This exhibition will celebrate the legacy of Mid-Century signage from the Pacific Northwest, and America’s playground.

This will be my third annual exhibit at the Gray Sky Gallery & the first to feature works from the fabuolous Vegas strip & beyond

This collection is inspired by my time at the Cassiar Cannery Long Residence, completed spring 2022. The residence is jointly organised by the Cannery and the Prince Rupert Arts Council, and gives artists a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique landscape and culture of BC’s North coast.

The north coast of BC is a particular part of the world. It displays many of the landscape cultural elements seen elsewhere in the province, but has evolved a particular character and mindset, due to the remoteness from the rest of the province.

The north coast economy has long revolved around natural resource exploitation and trade. This has left the area susceptible to changes largely out of the control, of its residents, and resulted in a particular history of boom & bust economics. This exhibition looks at how this boom & bust pattern is expressed in the natural and built legacy unique to this part of BC.

Chinatown’s beloved THIS gallery has moved to a new space, and it’s celebrating with an open house and specialty holiday market.

Now located in the Sun Wah Centre (two blocks from its original location), THIS is hosting an open house from December 15 to 17. Coinciding with the weekend-long event is a powerhouse group show and accessible art market featuring local artists including Ben Skinner, Mengya Zhao, Laura Clark, Jeff Wilson, and Meg Shaw.

The Culture Crawl is an annual 4-day visual arts festival in November that involves 500+ artists on Vancouver's Eastside opening their studio to the public.

Splash Preview Exhibition

My 36'x36" piece "Portside Ya Bas!" will be installed at the Pendulum Gallery as part of the Splash preview Show which runs from September 25 to October 19, 2023.

Splash is Arts Umbrella’s annual art auction with proceeds benefiting young people across Metro Vancouver in the visual and performing arts.

PoMoArts 25th Anniversary Exhibition

A milestone celebration bringing together a culturally and artistically diverse collective of artists who have graced our gallery spaces over the years, each making their unique mark on the tapestry of our artistic community.

Tall Trees and Fearless” have been accepted into the Oli & Water Show, an annual exhibition operated by the South Delta Artists Guild for 18 years!

The exhibition runs from June 2 to June 25, open Thursdays to Sundays from 12 to 4 pm, and Fridays from 12 to 8 pm. There will be an Opening Reception with Awards and Presentations on Thursday, June 1 at 6:30 pm.
