Anonymous Art Show: Our Holiday FUNdraiser!

November 28 - December 15, 2024

Artwork Sneak Preview in-Gallery Event: Saturday, November 23, 2024 | TBD |

This group exhibition and important North Van Arts fundraising event includes both emerging and established artists. All artwork will be available to view and purchase online, reaching a wide audience, while the exhibition will be installed at CityScape Community ArtSpace, with in-person preview and exhibition viewing. All purchases will be exclusively online.

The magic of this show is that each artist remains anonymous until after their work has sold. Participating artists are required to sign only the back of the canvas to keep their identity unknown. Once a painting is purchased, it is removed from the wall and replaced with a sold tag, revealing the artist’s name.

Artwork Sneak Preview in-Gallery Event, November 23, TBD

Online Sale Begins, Thursday, November 28, 7:00 pm

Online Sale Ends, Tuesday, December 15, 5:00 pm

Finishing up a busy exhibition season with an exhibition of my north coast collection at Gibsons Public Art Gallery, which has been at the centre of the Sunshine Coast Arts community for over twenty years!  My exhibit has been  inspired by my 2022 artist residence at the Cassiar Cannery & illustrates aspects of the particular history in one of BC's most fascinating regions.

My exhibit will be opening alongside "Watershed" and exhibition by Vancouver artist Suzan Marczak, which explores the primal landscapes of high mountain passes and headwaters, illustrating the awe inspiring yet fragile nature of these water towers and emphasizing the need to protect and preserve them

Opening reception, Friday May 10, 2024

Exhibition runs May 7- June 8

This collection is inspired by my time at the Cassiar Cannery Long Residence, completed spring 2022. The residence is jointly organised by the Cannery and the Prince Rupert Arts Council, and gives artists a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique landscape and culture of BC’s North coast.

The north coast of BC is a particular part of the world. It displays many of the landscape cultural elements seen elsewhere in the province, but has evolved a particular character and mindset, due to the remoteness from the rest of the province.

The north coast economy has long revolved around natural resource exploitation and trade. This has left the area susceptible to changes largely out of the control, of its residents, and resulted in a particular history of boom & bust economics. This exhibition looks at how this boom & bust pattern is expressed in the natural and built legacy unique to this part of BC.
