This collection of paintings illustrates a series of vehicles from Canada and Scotland. In many ways, vehicles are an integral part of the landscape, reflecting particular history & culture of each country. Canada’s traditional resource-based economy is depicted in paintings of trains, timber vehicles and choppers. In contrast, the two canvases from Scotland depict an oil rig support vessel and a bus converted into a café. This reflects the relatively recent rise of tourism & oil & gas as major employers in Scotland since the 1970’s.
